Description
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's Engineering Design Team. This role involves providing electrical design and specification support across their diverse product portfolio.
Main Responsibilities

Contribute electrical design expertise within the engineering design team.

Create electrical schematics and panel layouts in line with system specifications.

Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the company’s ERP system.

Support the manufacturing team with BOM and design-related issues to meet project deadlines.

Provide continuous improvement feedback to fellow design engineers.

Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, quality, and company standards.

Support and mentor new or less experienced electrical personnel.
-
Provide absence cover for electrical design engineers when needed.
-
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
Key Tasks
-
Deliver electrical design input for machine builds as required.
-
Produce and revise electrical schematic drawings.
-
Structure and maintain BOMs within the ERP system.

Inspect and approve system designs and drawings prior to release.

Identify and correct engineering drawing and BOM discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with customer User Requirement Specifications (URS).

Participate in production and design meetings.

Carry out any additional tasks aligned with your skill set and capabilities.
Knowledge and Skills Required

Proficiency in electrical design software, preferably SolidWorks Electrical 2D or E-plan.

Strong background in a manufacturing environment with systems integration experience.

Working knowledge of Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC control systems.
-
A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience demonstrating suitability for the role.

Experience in electrical design within machine build environments.

Skilled in creating and managing multilevel BOMs.

Clear and effective communication across all levels of the business.
-
Commitment to health & safety, environmental, quality, and company standards.
