Description
Role Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated Test/Commissioning Engineer to join our clients team. The role involves testing and commissioning equipment produced by by their manufacturing facility, ensuring products meet quality standards, delivery schedules, and manufacturing targets. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Manufacturing Team to optimize processes and procedures for assembly, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and commissioning of manufactured equipment, including internal testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Conduct on-site commissioning of manufactured equipment at customer locations.
- Carry out electromechanical assembly in accordance with product drawings and company procedures.
- Perform electrical and functional testing following specified procedures and standards.
- Record and report accurate data within agreed timeframes.
- Provide assistance across departments as required by workload demands.
Duties
- Provide constructive feedback to Engineering and Management teams.
- Inspect piece parts and perform self-inspections.
- Carry out cable routing, electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and fitting.
- Travel to remote sites to perform repair and commissioning tasks.
- Support product development through prototyping and mock-up manufacturing.
- Ensure personal adherence to quality standards and company procedures.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the business.
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualifications: City & Guilds or equivalent in electro/mechanical training.
- Experience:
- PLC-HMI programming and robot control programming.
- Manufacturing processes related to wiring, assembly, testing, and fault-finding.
- Problem-solving with a methodical approach.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and mechanical fitting.
- Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Flexible and task-oriented attitude.
- Other Requirements:
- Full UK driving license.

- Salary: £30,000–£45,000 per annum
