Description
Pay: £12.80 per hour / £24,627.20 per annum
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift: Mon – Thurs, 7am – 4:45pm
An established manufacturing business is seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Administrator to support its Operations Department across Stores, Despatch, Data Collection, and Data Entry.
This role is desk-based role and involves manual handling activities within Stores and Despatch. Full training will be provided, though previous experience in any of these areas is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Despatch
- Manage all aspects of the despatch process.
- Assemble sales orders using the company’s MRP system.
- Prepare items for shipment, including wrapping, weighing, and noting dimensions.
- Produce shipping and export documentation.
- Organise carrier collections (e.g., UPS, FedEx, TNT).
- Follow customer-specific despatch requirements.
- Liaise with customer service to meet delivery timelines.
- Report issues or shortfalls to management.
- Maintain a clean, organised despatch area.
Stores
- Book in parts from internal and external sources using the MRP system.
- Pick parts for assembly in line with documentation such as specifications, route cards, and picking lists.
- Update system records with accurate stock movements.
- Carry out perpetual stock checks to ensure system accuracy.
- Inspect incoming parts for quantity and quality.
- Work with other departments to resolve any queries.
- Maintain a tidy stores environment and ensure forms are replenished.
Data Collection & Entry
- Collect production data (e.g., timesheets, order completion, downtime).
- Enter data into Excel and the MRP system.
- Generate reports as required.
- Work with the Systems Administrator to support improvements to the MRP system.
General Duties
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and 5S standards.
- Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support operational needs.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Flexible, “can-do” attitude with willingness to work across Stores, Despatch, and Admin.
- Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors.
- Ability to multitask and organise workload effectively.
- Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to excellent attendance.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
