Location: Skipton
Salary: £25,000 p/a
Job type: Part time (22hrs) – Fixed term contract (maternity cover)

Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join a finance team in Skipton on a temporary maternity cover basis. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing the accounts team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, and supporting senior management in strategic financial decisions.

Job responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise the accounts team, ensuring high performance & adherence to company policies
• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger & payroll
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations & standards
• Provide strategic financial analysis & reporting to senior management
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting & financial planning activities

Key requirements:
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within an accounts department
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations & best practices
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 200 & Sage Payroll) & Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving & organisational skills
• Strong leadership & team management abilities
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills
