This is a unique opportunity to begin a meaningful career supporting families and young people impacted by domestic or sexual abuse. You’ll receive full training and work towards a Level 4 Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker qualification, preparing you for long-term careers in roles such as:

About the Role
This position is based within a supportive and dedicated community team focused on helping children and young people recover from the effects of domestic abuse. Your work will be child-centred, trauma-informed, and creative.
Key responsibilities include:

Building supportive, trusted relationships with children and young people

Delivering 1:1 and group sessions using age-appropriate, engaging methods
-
Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting healthy family relationships

Working collaboratively with parents/carers, encouraging recovery as a family unit
-
Completing risk assessments and support plans that reflect individual needs
-
Working in a way that is inclusive, safe, and sensitive to diverse backgrounds
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to have all the experience – full training is provided. But if you have a genuine passion for working with young people and making a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Ideally, you’ll bring:

Some experience supporting families through safeguarding or child protection processes

Confidence in engaging with children and young people, including group facilitation

Understanding of trauma and a commitment to non-judgemental, person-centred support
-
Ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals
-
Good organisational and communication skills
-
A creative and compassionate approach to supporting recovery
