Essential Requirements

• Minimum 6 months experience within children’s residential, supported living or leaving care services
• Experience supporting challenging behaviour and complex needs
• Full UK driving licence preferred
• PMVA, MAPA or equivalent training desirable
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends
• Passion for supporting young people towards independence

The Role

We are recruiting experienced and passionate Children’s Support Workers to support young people aged 16 to 21 transitioning from the care system into independent living across Manchester, Oldham and Burnley.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people by helping them build confidence, life skills and independence within supported accommodation services.

Duties will include:

• Supporting young people with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, budgeting and shopping
• Encouraging independence and positive decision making
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and managing challenging behaviour
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting education, employment and training goals
• Completing daily notes, incident reports and safeguarding records
• Promoting a safe, structured and supportive environment
• Working alongside social workers and external professionals
