This is a hands-on role focused on creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment while promoting positive outcomes, emotional wellbeing, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living tasks including housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe home environment.
  • Support young people to engage in education, routines, activities, and personal development.
  • Plan and participate in activities, community outings, and trips including outdoor days, theme parks, beaches, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a residential care team to deliver high-quality support.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within children’s residential care, support work, youth work, care, or behavioural support is desirable.
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour is preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence – essential due to transport and activity requirements.
  • Strong communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and child-centred care practices.
  • PMVA, restraint training, or Team Teach certification preferred but not essential.

Benefits & Progression

  • £12.71 per hour + £60 sleep-in payment
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Support towards Level 3 & Level 4 Children & Young People qualifications
