Description

Rotherwood Education are seeking to appoint a part time A Level English Language Teacher, the role includes teaching AQA English Language to A level within a College setting.

The role is to start ASAP untill Easter.

As a full time A Level English Teacher, the applicant will still be expected to take part in any necessary activities/ duties of a permanent member of staff including planning and parent's evenings if required.

The role of the successful A Level English Teacher:

  • Teach year 1 and year 2 English Language at A Level (all resources and lesson plans in place).
  • Support learners in their final prep for the English Speaking Board exam (all resources and lesson plans in place)- L3 ESB Certificate in Speech focused on oracy.
  • Also cover 1 unit in BTEC Uniformed Protective Services - Citizenship and Diversity unit 1 for the coursework submission (resources provided).
  • Teach consistently high quality lessons
  • Plan and deliver schemes of work and lessons that meet the requirements of KS5.
  • Be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in English Language
  • Maintain appropriate records and to provide relevant, accurate and up-to-date information for SIMs registers
  • Complete the relevant documentation to assist in the tracking of students
  • Set expectations for staff and students in relation to standards of achievement and the quality of learning & teaching
  • Applicants with an English Literature background are also welcome.

The ideal candidate will :

  • Hold a valid teaching qualification such as a PGCE, QTS or QTLS
  • Provide details of at least two referees covering the last 5 years' work history
  • Possess a current criminal record check (Enhanced DBS certificate that is registered with the online update service) or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration
  • Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
  • Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks
