Description
Location: Primarily Burnley, with regular travel across multiple sites (including Liverpool)
An established organisation operating across multiple sites in the North is seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Co-ordinator to support and improve HSE performance across its operations.
This is a hands-on, multi-site role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Monitor compliance with relevant HSE legislation, policies, and procedures
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing reports and corrective actions
- Support the delivery of HSE training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Assist managers and supervisors with safe systems of work and method statements
- Maintain accurate HSE records, documentation, and reports
- Promote a positive safety culture across all sites
About You
- Proven experience in a Health, Safety and/or Environmental role
- Good working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
- IOSH Managing Safety – essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Confident conducting audits, inspections, and investigations
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required, due to regular travel between sites, including Liverpool
Desirable
- Environmental qualification or experience
- Experience in a multi-site, operational, or industrial environment
- Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards)
