Rotherwood Education are currently seeking caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants to work in a range of our valued partner primary schools across Burnley and the surrounding areas. These exciting roles offer the opportunity to support the learning and development of young children in their crucial early years.

 

Position Details:

  • Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Burnley and surrounding areas
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time, Ongoing
  • Daily Rate: £80 – £90 per day

 

About the Role:

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting children in nursery and reception classes, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You’ll help create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where children feel secure and inspired to learn.

This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping young children grow in confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children in all areas of the EYFS curriculum through structured and play-based activities
  • Helping to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences
  • Encouraging language development, social skills, and independence
  • Supporting with personal care routines where required
  • Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Observing and recording children's progress in line with EYFS guidance

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working in an EYFS or early years setting (school or nursery)
  • Be warm, approachable, and passionate about child development
  • Understand the EYFS framework and early learning goals
  • Be confident supporting learning through play and exploration
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to safeguarding children
  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification
