About the Service
We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist domestic abuse service that provides safe accommodation community based support and recovery programmes for children and young people affected by domestic abuse. The service delivers trauma informed interventions focused on safety stability emotional recovery and long term resilience. The team works collaboratively with schools social care health and community partners to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
The Role
• Provide structured one to one and group support to children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse
• Complete assessments and develop high quality support plans centred on emotional wellbeing safety and personal resilience
• Deliver trauma informed interventions including confidence building healthy relationships coping strategies and age appropriate safety planning
• Support children and young people to re engage with education health and community activities
• Work closely with parents carers social workers schools and relevant agencies to ensure coordinated safeguarding and support
• Respond quickly to concerns and contribute to robust risk management
• Maintain accurate case notes records and outcome measures in line with service standards
• Promote a safe empowering and consistent environment across all settings including refuge safe accommodation and outreach provision
Applicant Profile
You should have:
• Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse trauma or complex family difficulties
• Strong safeguarding knowledge with confidence in identifying and escalating risk
• Understanding of trauma informed practice and child development
• Skilled at engaging children and young people in a calm consistent and supportive manner
• Professional communication and ability to work effectively with partner agencies
• Confident managing sensitive information and maintaining high quality records
• Flexible approach with ability to work across locations including community and school settings
• Full right to work in the United Kingdom
