Supporting Young People Aged 16–25 Towards Independent Living
Day Shifts & Waking Nights Available
Are you passionate about helping young people take the next step towards independence? We’re looking for dedicated Children & Youth Support Workers in Halifax to support care-experienced young adults aged 16–25 as they move towards independent living.
You’ll be part of a supportive team working with individuals who may have experienced trauma, instability, or difficult transitions, helping them develop the life skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed on their own.
We have both day shifts and waking night shifts available, making this a flexible opportunity for the right candidates.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting with daily life skills such as budgeting, cooking, household tasks, and maintaining tenancies

Promoting independence and personal responsibility

Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development

Assisting with appointments, education, employment, and training pathways

Providing overnight support on waking night shifts, offering a consistent and calming presence

Maintaining accurate records and working to safeguarding protocols

Building positive, professional relationships with young people and multi-agency teams
We’re looking for candidates who:

Hold a full UK driving licence – essential for this role

Have experience working with young people in supported living, housing, or social care

Understand the importance of boundaries, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care

Are confident working both independently and as part of a team

Can remain calm, patient, and consistent in the face of challenging behaviour
