Description

Are you confident in managing complex behaviours and crisis situations? Do you have a calm, resilient approach and a passion for making a difference in young lives?

We’re looking for experienced Children & Youth Support Workers in the Accrington area to support young people on a 3:1 or 5:1 basis. These roles are centred around working with children and adolescents with high levels of need, particularly those displaying challenging behaviours and requiring intensive, structured care.

The role includes:

  • Providing 1:1 and team-based care for children with complex emotional and behavioural needs

  • Managing high-pressure and crisis situations with confidence

  • Creating a safe, supportive, and consistent environment

  • Supporting children in their day-to-day routines, including schoolwork, activities, meals, and personal care

  • Working closely with a wider care team and external professionals

  • Keeping accurate records and following safeguarding procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour

  • Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Confident communicator with fluent English

  • Strong resilience, patience, and emotional intelligence

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins if required
