Description
Chef – Residential Care Home
Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester
Salary: £15 per hour
Hours: Days
Contract: Permanent
Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in a healthcare or hospitality setting.

Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 2 (or willingness to work towards Intermediate level).

First Aid Certification.
-
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe food handling.

Ability to manage time effectively and supervise kitchen staff.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
The Role
As a Chef, you will:

Plan and prepare daily menus that meet residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.

Deliver meals that are appetising, visually appealing, and cost-effective.

Monitor food stock levels and maintain accurate records of inventory and orders.

Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served safely and hygienically.

Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to deliver high-quality service.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including deep cleaning schedules.

Attend team meetings and training sessions, contributing to continuous improvement.

Build positive relationships with residents and their families, responding promptly to feedback.
