Level 2 Early Years Practitioner

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Early Years Practitioner to join a well-established and supportive Early Years setting in the Nelson area.

The role is full-time, 5 days per week, and is due to start in September 2026 on an ongoing basis.

Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday (school hours)
Pay Rate: £12.16 - £14.24 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

• Support the learning, care and development of children within the Early Years setting.
• Deliver engaging play-based learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
• Support children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy and personal, social and emotional development.
• Assist with observations, assessments and learning journals to monitor children's progress.
• Work closely with colleagues to prepare learning environments and resources that promote curiosity and independence.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help children develop confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Support children's personal care needs where required.
• Promote the safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
• Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Must Have:

• Hold a Level 2 Early Years and Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
• Have previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
• Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
• Be confident supporting children's learning and development through play.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Provide details of the latest two references, covering the last five years' work history.
• Possess a current DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one as part of the registration process.
• Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy all relevant compliance checks.
