Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in the Burnley area. This role is 4 days per week, and due to start in May ongoing for 9 months.

This is an excellent chance to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a school that values inclusive teaching, academic excellence, and professional development.

Position Details:

Job Title: Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Burnley, Lancashire

Start Date: May, ongoing for 9 months

Contract Type: Part-time, 4 days per week.

Daily Rate: £168 – £215 per day

About the Role:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of learning abilities
• Monitor and support student progress through meaningful assessment and feedback
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and departmental initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have strong subject knowledge in Geography (KS3 & KS4)
• Have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update Service
• Be confident in planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Be committed to inspiring young people and improving outcomes for all learners
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote student wellbeing
