Temporary Casual Shifts
£12.21 to £12.50 per hour
We are currently recruiting Support Workers to work within a supported housing services across Lancashire, supporting adults with mental health needs, substance misuse and challenging behaviour. This is a low to medium risk environment focused on stability, engagement and recovery.
This role is offered on a casual basis, suitable for experienced support workers looking to pick up flexible shifts within adult services.
The Role
You will be delivering frontline support to adults in a supported housing setting, promoting independence, safety and positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing practical and emotional support to adults with mental health and substance misuse needs
• Supporting individuals to manage behaviour and make positive choices
• Carrying out needs and risk assessments
• Supporting recovery focused support plans
• Encouraging compliance with tenancy or licence conditions
• Supporting service users to access benefits, budgeting support, health services and external agencies
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns appropriately
• Maintaining accurate daily records and handover notes
• Working in line with safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies
Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience supporting adults with mental health and substance misuse needs
• Experience managing low to medium risk challenging behaviour
• Ability to remain calm, professional and consistent in difficult situations
• Basic IT skills for record keeping
• Strong communication skills and professional boundaries
