Hours: Bank/zero-hour basis, flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

The Role
We are looking for a Safe Accommodation Worker to join a dedicated team supporting survivors of domestic abuse within safe accommodation services across the North West. This role is central to ensuring the smooth running of a refuge or supported housing environment, providing practical, administrative, and emotional support to residents.
As part of a compassionate frontline team, you will help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for adults, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse. You will play a key role in maintaining safety, wellbeing, and dignity for all residents while supporting the administrative and operational needs of the service.
Key Responsibilities

Support the admission process and orient new residents to the service, safety procedures, and available support

Prepare rooms and maintain a clean, secure, and welcoming environment

Respond to incidents appropriately, updating logs in line with safeguarding procedures

Maintain accurate administrative records, including daily updates on occupancy, case management notes, and donation tracking

Assist with general admin tasks such as referrals, paperwork, and coordination of food parcels or essential supplies

Carry out basic health and safety checks and support risk assessment processes

Encourage healthy routines and provide reassurance to residents experiencing anxiety or trauma

Produce clear handover notes to ensure continuity of care

Work flexibly to meet the changing needs of the service
Essential Requirements

Experience of lone working in a care, housing, or support environment

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Non-judgmental, compassionate approach to supporting residents

Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Health and safety awareness, including use of PPE and safe working practices
Desirable
-
Experience in domestic abuse services, supported housing, social care, or working with vulnerable groups
-
Training in trauma-informed care or domestic abuse awareness
-
Experience liaising with external agencies such as police, social services, or housing providers

Familiarity with case management systems and Microsoft Office

Knowledge of UK safeguarding laws and the Domestic Abuse Act 2021

Ability to manage the emotional impact of the role and maintain professional boundaries
