Description
Due to continued growth our client is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role of the Supplier Quality Engineer is to act as the interface between the business and supply chain. This includes all aspects of approval through to maintenance and development of the supplier relationship in line with the company requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Monitor, report and create action plans on supplier product quality and performance
- Conduct supplier assessments for quality technical and capacity to assure unfettered supply into the business
- Lead supplier improvement and recovery meetings ensuring that effective corrective and preventative actions are put in place.
- Maintain approved supplier listing and ensure suppliers are signed up to the clients flow down of requirements
- Support all NPI activities with suppliers ensuring timely delivery of engineering change and new programs
- Ensure assets at suppliers are correctly identified and logged.
- Ensure that all supplier activities comply with the clients BMS in line with IATF 16949 / ISO9001 plus any specific customer /regulatory
- Lead process improvement activities at the supplier and actively seek value enhancement opportunities
- Supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations & the clients requirements
- Assure that Engineering product specifications, Control Plans, PFMEA are correctly flowed into the supply base
Skills:
- IT literate & competent in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Outlook as a minimum.
- Audit trained and familiar with IATF, ISO9001 and ISO14001
Attributes:
HNC/Suitable demonstrable experience within a similar role
Able to travel up to 50% time.
Physically capable of travel and visiting suppliers domestically and overseas
Self-reliant, able to work at distance from HQ and make decisions within roles scope and in the best interests of the business
Understands that role profile is not a limitation and would be expected to take on additional duties as and when required.
Requirements: Full driving licence and passport required.
7.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday & 7.45am - 1pm Friday
