Description
Rotherwood Recruitment are working in partnership with a well established manufacturing client based in Burnley. Easily accessible via public transport, excellent training plan, progression and training.
Do you have proven experience of successfully working within an engineering focused environment, which incorporates elements of:
- CNC milling experience, & measurement verification
- Assembly line processes & Basic robotic recoveries
- Simple TPM related tasks on work holding and robotic equipment
Role Objective:
The role of Shift Technician is to ensure that they support the production of product by the required means. This maybe to support the Production engineer or Maintenance – Automation engineer in more technical activities or to run a process as already predefined by SOP.
Specific Responsibilities:
Production
- Demonstrate an understanding of and help drive
- Standard Operating Procedures required for the specific task/job
- Product quality requirements.
- Using simple engineering measuring instruments
- Batch card disciplines.
- Inspection principles.
- Realtime data capture and time sheet records.
Manufacturing
- Loading components onto appropriate conveyors for machines
- Monitor hand-controlled or computer-controlled machines
- Unloading components
- De burr and check surface conditions of material
- Visually inspect to ensure compliance to product quality requirements
- Ensure Kanban principles are being followed and help drive effectiveness of these.
Assembly
- Operate automated production line equipment
- Use of conveyor lines, hand tools, airlines and part markers
- Assemble goods on a manual production line
- Use machines which are pre-set to carry out certain tasks
- Visually inspect to ensure compliance to product quality requirements
- Store components appropriately
- Record how the number of items produced each shift
Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM)
- Ensure all Environmental; Health & Safety Requirements are being adhered to
- Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery
- Where appropriate check and monitor machine lubricant and coolant levels
- Adjust machine controls and monitor the production process and outputs
- Fit parts to machinery and equipment
- Report equipment faults to shift leader
- Identify problems
- Deal with problems effectively
- Utilise 5S & Lean principles
The positions are permanent, based at our site in Burnley.
Working a 37.5 hour week
The position is Nights
Nights: Monday to Friday 10pm - 6am
Shift allowance is paid at time and a 1/6th
