Description
Our client based in Nelson is currently looking for individuals who have an interest in clothing to join their ever growing tailoring factory, who specialise in making Primary, Secondary and University uniforms.
Key responsibities:-
- Sewing using flat-beds sewing machines (previous experience would be an advantage but not essential)
- Ensuring the material and label is correct for the production order
- Managing your workload in a fast-paced environment
- Ensuring work is completed with maximum efficiency and highest quality
- Be an excellent team player, ensuring completed pieces are passed to the next stage in a suitable condition
- Daily maintenance of individual machines
- Maintain sufficient stock of thread and labels per machine
- Abide by the Broken Needle Policy at all times
- Abide by the Foreign Object Policy at all times
Key skills required:-
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination
- Good concentration levels
- Attention to detail
- Able to work well as part of a team and equally well independently
- Ability to work accurately and methodically
- Ability to plan and organise workload
- An understanding of health and safety requirements
- Flexibly approach to duties and tasks
This is a temporary position but for the ideal candidate this role become permanent.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-4.30pm , Fri 8am-12pm
Rate of pay: £10.42 per hour
