Description

Rotherwood Recruitment are working in partnership with a growing manufacturing company in Burnley, who are looking to recruit a Lab Technician on a permanent basis.

You will be working 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday rotating shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test the thickening of the material by measuring the penetrometer values and release the material from the hot room if in specifications
  • Test the raw materials according to the Incoming raw materials control plan.
  • Write all raw materials testing results on the testing sheet (sending an e-mail for resins only) and log them into the ( Data input system)
  • Carry out the QA testing (unit weight samples, etc.) to support Production activities when required
  • Test the SMC & BMC intermediate and finished goods according to the control plan and following adequate procedures
  • Write all finished goods results on the QA testing sheets.
  • Transfer the material for delivery when requested by Lab Manager /Quality manager
  • Report all out of specifications results along with first investigation results to Lab Manager /Quality Manager for decision
  • Note any quality issues and report incidents, equipment defects, process issues to Lab Manager/Quality manager
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of Continuous Improvement activities
  • Housekeeping and cleanliness and adherence to all site policies and procedures

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED HOWEVER FULL TRAINING GIVEN

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing/testing or quality environment
  • Experience of working in a ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified environment
  • Experience and knowledge of incoming raw materials quality control testing
  • Experience of finished product quality control testing
  • Ability to run a range of laboratory equipment’s
  • IT skills- excel, Microsoft outlook
  • Awareness of hazardous substance controls
