Description

We are working with an IT company that works with high profile clients throughout the UK, looking after data networks and installing high performance technology. They are looking for a Junior Engineer to join their ranks in the Steeton office. You might not have any experience within the industry currently but if you're the type of person that people come to for help when their struggling with technology, you might be already working in IT or looking to move into it, then this role could be for you.

The position will see you working as part of a 10 person engineering team, initially learning the ropes while being exposed to project and support work. It's the perfect role for someone who wants to get stuck into a technical role and progress within it. Day-to-day, you'll be carrying out project tasks such as product configuration, troubleshooting network and camera equipment, rack installation, cabling, and working with technical documentation. You will also find yourself visiting customer sites with Senior Engineers to install the equipment that you've helped configure and also working with the Projects Team to help keep track of kit for projects needed within the Engineering Team.

To be considered for the role you will need to be passionate about technology and want to develop within the field. The skills you'll need to be able to demonstrate include:

• Being happy to talk to people, to ask questions, to speak comfortably with colleagues and customers.
• Have basic IT skills, computer literate.
• Wanting to fix problems, being curious as to how things work.
• Caring about quality.
• Taking initiative to create documentation – ‘How to guides’ for example so the next person can learn.
• Being courteous.
• The ability to follow a process and when there isn’t one, feel empowered to create one.
• Wanting to progress and keep learning.
• Taking pride in your workspace.

Due to the high security work that you will be involved with and the sites that you'll be travelling to, you will need:
• The ability to obtain Security Clearance and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV3).
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

If you have any questions or require any further information, please contact the team at Rotherwood.
