The Business

The Company is part of a Group of Companies specialising in all aspects of property purchase & management. They have offices based in Burnley and in Middlesbrough and manage a large portfolio of properties in both regions. Recently, they have just celebrated their 2000+ property mark as a Group!

The Role

The main role involves liaising with our external IT-company and in setting up and troubleshooting hardware and software for staff.

You may be required to visit our North-East office (in Middlesbrough) now and again to ensure the smooth running of IT facilities there, so a car driver is required.

The ideal candidate must be a motivated individual who is professional and competent. They will also have 2 years’ minimum experience in basic IT.

  • Organise the setup of New starters (and Leavers) with their laptops/desk phones/ mobile phones.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Setup basic networking e.g. Ethernet switches around the office, and understand how they work.
  • Move people around with their hardware
  • Ensure all essential software is set up for staff.
  • Confident with Windows environment
  • Train staff on how to use basic software (QuickBooks, SharePoint, Outlook 365, MS Teams)
  • Manage mailing distribution lists
  • Manage stock inventory lists for IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot onsite and remote hardware and basic software issues
  • Liaise with external IT company and Directors to complete actions
  • Keep our documentation and IT registers up to date
  • Project work e.g. working with Management to help roll out new software

Key Skills Required 

  • Trustworthiness – dealing with confidential data
  • IT skills – competent with software and hardware, basic networking (ethernet (POE/Non-POE) switches)
  • Communication skills – be able to talk to a staff and management professionally and communicate verbally and in writing
  • Organisational skills – be able to track tasks and deliver results in a timely manner
