Rotherwood Recruitment are working in partnership with a global engineering company based in Altham. Due to recent expansion they are now looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to join their IT team.
To provide a comprehensive, professional IT support function to the business, including the installation and maintenance of IT equipment and the fulfilment of internal customer requests. To ensure change requests and issues are assessed and actioned within existing service level agreements via the help desk. To assist the team with any IT infrastructure projects to help ensure they’re delivered on time and to the business’s specifications. To perform any other IT-related duties as reasonably required.
Responsibilities and duties:
·To undertake all aspects of IT Support required by the company.
·To work with the rest of the IT team to process help desk tickets and to ensure they’re resolved according to the company’s service level agreements.
·To assist with the deployment and maintenance of IT equipment as required by the business.
·To contribute towards the success of large-scale IT infrastructure projects planned over the next twelve months.
·To continually assess the company’s IT service provision with a view to its continual improvement in line with constantly evolving technologies, whilst ensuring security and data protection are of the highest standard.
·To engage with all areas of the business to understand, monitor and support its needs in the use and development of IT systems.
·To lead in the development of the existing server systems and network infrastructure in line with business and strategic plans, to ensure a robust, available service that continually improves through technical innovation.
·To work with the IT team on any projects required by the wider Global IT team.
·Assist in the development, implementation and testing of Backup and Disaster Recovery plans to effectively ensure all data and systems are protected and can be efficiently reinstated in the event of a minor or total loss.
·Any other reasonable duties, as and when required.
·In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies: desktop and server operating systems, Exchange, Active Directory, networking, Microsoft 365
·Knowledge of computer hardware installation and maintenance
·Knowledge of IT security principles and best practice
·Awareness of ERP systems
·Excellent troubleshooting skills
·Good written and oral communication skills
·Experience of working as part of a small team
·Able to work unsupervised
·Courteous and professional manner
Previous experience in a similar role
Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1:30pm.
