Careers Advice and Guidance Officer

Rotherwood Teachers are currently recruiting a Careers Advice and Guidance Officer for a well-established client based in Burnley.

This role is a on going, full-time (34.5 hours per week) position starting ASAP.

Duties of the Careers Advice and Guidance Officer role

• To manage a caseload of work, including one-to-one and group information, advice and guidance sessions and action plan accordingly.
• Facilitate drop in sessions and workshops, as well as small group sessions and larger presentations across College relating to all aspects of careers education and topics around personal development and progression.
• To effectively utilise IT systems for administrative duties.
• To research careers, pathways, progression opportunities and labour market information to help inform caseload work across the organisation.
• Review and maintain career related resources and displays used within the College.
• To keep up to date with legislation as well as professional and academic developments by undertaking self-research and reflection of practice.
• To support at educational and career focused events.
• To assist with training, guidance and support for curriculum staff so that they are equipped to deliver quality careers programmes.
• To support, work within and contribute to the achievement of relevant quality frameworks.
• Present and use data to analyse trends and address student and business needs.

The successful Careers Advice and Guidance Officer candidate will:

• Have experience in a Careers Advice and Guidance Officer role.
• NVQ Level 4 in Advice & Guidance or Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance (desirable)
• Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history
• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration
• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
• Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks
