Rotherwood Teachers are currently looking to recruit a long term Geography teacher.
You will be required to:
To lead best practice in the teaching of Geography, ensuring excellence in Geography teaching and
learning, so that lessons are challenging and exciting, evaluating the quality of teaching and standards
of students’ achievement, and setting targets for improvement
To provide professional leadership and management for Geography to secure high quality teaching,
effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all students.
To ensure high standards of attendance and behaviour in Geography, establishing and maintaining
policies and practices to promote positive student behaviour and achievement in Geography within
the framework of the academy Behaviour for Learning Policy
Within the context of the academy’s aims and policies, to develop and implement Geography policies,
plans, targets and practices
To run the Geography department and be active and supportive of its members
Provide details of at least two referees covering the last 5 years' work history
Possess a current criminal record check (Enhanced DBS certificate that is registered with the online update service) or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration
Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks
