Description

Rotherwood Recruitment are working with a long standing, well established manufacturing company based in Haslingden. They have an excellent reputation and have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Planner to join their expanding team.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

You will be working with an experienced transport team responsible for providing on-site operational and administrative support. Responsibilities start with checking-in and checking-out registration of drivers, dispatching drivers and developing to planning using Paragon Planning software.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

•Efficiently and accurately dispatching drivers with all relevant paperwork.

•Supporting Transport Planner on Paragon Planning Tool with a

•Completing customer KPIs where required.

•Completing manual trailer check daily.

•Monitoring and actioning any calls for the depot.

•Communicating with customers, booking in deliveries answering queries.

•Liaising with drivers on delivery or changes to plans.

•Completing daily tasks for compliance purposes.

•Internal reporting duties.

•Downloading vehicle & driver digital tachographs as per requirement.

•System administration.

Skills

These are considered essential for all aspects of the job to be carried out thoroughly well together with an indication of other desirable factors if appropriate.

•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people.

•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

•Ability to take instruction and carry it out to a high standard.

•Able to work autonomously yet able to collaborate with a wider team.

Job knowledge

•Understanding of a Transport Environment.

•Transport Compliance (not essential training given).

•Tachograph systems experience (not essential training given).

•Telematics system experience (not essential training given).

Experience

•Works logically and systematically.

•Good general proactive communicator.

•Computer literate

•Vehicle planning experience (not essential).

•Working in a challenging office environment.

Working hours:

  • 36.25 hours per week - working Mon-Fri 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (with 45 mins unpaid lunch break).
